Ardent final of Cape Kaliakra Open 2014

Nearly 190 players from more than 17 countries participated in the first golf tournament Cape Kaliakra Open 2014, held from the 13th until the 15th of June, on the three signature golf courses- BlackSeaRama, Thracian Cliffs and Lighthouse. The tournament was jointly organized by the "Kaliakra golf" foundation, supporting young golf talents and the Bulgarian Golf Association.

After competitive three day rounds on each of the golf courses and challenging weather conditions, Peter Stratiev won the race in Division A with 117 points. The young golfer Dimitar Savov (13 y/o) showed his huge potential and took the second place with just one point less than the big winner. Fabio Furnari remained in third place with 110 points.

An interesting finish for Division B. The Romanian golfers Cristian Tardea and Vernel Craciunescu had completed the three rounds with equal points and after a dramatic two-hole playoff Tardea managed to win the first award.  Third place for Nikolay Nankov.

With great all-round game and impressive result of 117 points, the 11-year-old Rivekka Nidelhan triumphed in the ladies Division C. Her runners-up are Dzhigman Catalina with 114 and Kim Seung Ree with 110 points.

The winners of the tournament received generous prizes - watches OMEGA, weekly trips to the Italian Golf Resort Terme di Saturnia and tablets iPad. Two special awards were given: one to  9-year-old Alex Kim for the best young player in the tournament, and one for the adult - Dimitar Sterev.


Mr. Sard Sardorov, President of "Kaliakra golf" foundation, greeted the participants, teams of the three host courses and the Bulgarian Golf Association for the excellent tournament and invited all of them for the next edition of Cape Kaliakra Open in 2015
